- Kenyasi No.1 Saamanhene Supports Hospitals with Hitechled all-in-one solar LED lights

The Saamanhene of Kenyasi No.1 Traditional Area, Nana Anim Dankwah has donated HITECHLED 60w solar street light systems to two health facilities in the Asutifi North District of the Brong Ahafo region to support improved healthcare delivery for patients.
The beneficiary institutions are Kenyasi Hospital and Gyedu clinic in the district.Asutifi District is one of the Twenty two (27) districts in Brong Ahafo. It is located between latitudes 6°40' and 7°15' North and Longitudes 2°15' and 2°45' West. The district capital is Kenyasi, which is about 50km from Sunyani, the regional capital of Brong Ahafo, through Atronie and Ntotroso. It shares boundaries with Sunyani Municipal in the North, Tano South District to the North East, Dormaa Municipal to North West, Asunafo North Municipal and Asunafo South District in the South West and Ahafo Ano South and North Districts (Ashanti Region) in the South East.Inaugurating the projects, Omanhene of Kenyasi No.1 Traditional Area, lauded the project and said it will go a long way to improve the health needs of people in the district. He added the facility was cost effective and hoped with good use, it will put money in the pockets of people to boost the local economy.
He hoped the facility will bring to an end the problem of power outage especially for a critical service like the hospital. The Omanhene of Ntotroso traditional area, Barima Twum Ampem Twereku III commended the donor and Newmont Gold Ghana Limited (NGGL) for involving them in the project design and implementation.
Through the installations, NEDA, the nodal agency of Uttar Pradesh is required to light up the villages in two phases under Dr.Ram Manohar Lohiya Samagra Gram and Janeswar Mishra Gram Yojana, a government funded scheme monitored by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
He noted the commissioning was a wakeup call to communities and institutions to lobby NGGL for the service in their communities and encouraged stakeholders to emulate the gesture of the donor.Nana Anim Dankwah the donor of the project gave the assurance he will collaborate with other organizations to support initiatives that will especially assist the underprivileged in accessing quality healthcare.
"I fully understand how important health is to the development and well-being of the people, and what a well-functioning hospital means for people and as a native, I'm obliged to give back to my community," he emphasised.
He hoped corporate bodies especially Newmont Gold Ghana Limited would take up the challenge and extend the facility to more communities and institutions contribute to the health needs of the people.To the beneficiaries, he urged them to maintain and make good use of the facility justify the confidence repose to them by enhancing their socio-economic development.
In a speech read on his behalf of the District Chief Executive (DCE) by a Deputy Coordinating Director, Frank Tweneboa-Koduah said the donation was a demonstration of the private sectors commitment towards improving health delivery in the area. He pledged the assembly's resolve to extend and connect more communities to the national grid and cautioned against the misuse of the facility. Mrs. Feruza Adjei Boafo, Midwife of the Gyedu Clinic on behalf of the beneficiaries commended the donors and gave the assurance that the items would be put to judicious use to improve healthcare delivery for patients. She mentioned leaking staff quarters, lighting problems in the wards and fridge to preserve essential drugs and appealed to donors to come to their aid.
Nana Kweku Dontoh, the Contractor of the project for his part, said his outfit was proud to convert sunshine to solar energy to create potential job opportunities for wealth creation. He said the facility was safe and reliable and will provide power to improve security and life of residents.
Hitechled all in one integrated solar street light will light up Ghana and helps the people improve the life conditions.
